What could be better than taking Afternoon Tea amongst our flowers? That’s exactly what we thought. So we’ve teamed up with our friends at The Acre who are also based in the hamlet to offer you a Selsted Picnic Afternoon Tea or Selsted Picnic Ploughman’s to go with your Pick Your Own sessions. Available for both PYO Saturdays and PYO Wedding bookings.
We charge £15 per person and take bookings in multiples of two. Any bookings need to be confirmed three days in advance of your PYO slot to ensure you get the best quality ingredients. We have some benches and tables available and can offer you picnic blankets if you don’t have your own. Whilst The Acre are able to cater to most dietary requirements we do ask that you specify any requirements or allergies in advance.
Selsted Afternoon Tea
The Acre can offer you a fully homemade Selsted Picnic Afternoon Tea with all produce locally sourced and baked in-house. Boxes will be delivered to the farm to accompany your PYO booking and we will be able to provide you with teas and coffees on site. Each box will contain finger sandwiches and mini cakes, as well as seasonal selections of sausage rolls, quiche, macarons and scones and jam. The Acre like to follow the seasons as we do and are just as passionate about providing fresh local produce. That means that ingredients often change and you might find something that looks different in your box in June, to the offering in September, but each will be just as delicious.
Selsted Ploughman’s
The Selsted Picnic Ploughman’s is a nod to the rural farming area that you find yourself in. The Acre pride themselves on their seasonal local ingredients and only use the freshest and best that the area can provide. Your box will be delivered to the farm to accompany your PYO booking and we can provide you with teas and coffees on site. Each Ploughman’s will contain a seasonal mix which includes cheese, homemade chutney, salad, crackers, sausage rolls and cured meats as well as a cheese twist, pickled onions and gherkins. As with everything we offer seasonality is key and The Acre will only select the freshest and best for your box, which does means that sometimes the menu can change depending on availability, but they never compromise on taste.
